Yesterday, the Philippines stop again for a while. Tricycle drivers, taxi drivers, bus drivers, business tycoons, paupers, priests, pastors, monks, prisoners, warden, police, musician, tap dancer, folk dancer, etc. Whatever you do? You can't help but stop and watch one of the most awaited boxing fight of the year. Nonito Donaire versus Fernando Montiel, both have the heart and determined to win at all cost.
You knew the result not unless you're really not a boxing fan. Montiel was knocked-out in just second round. A crushing left hook straight to Montiel's temple, the rest is history. Instantly, Donaire was compared to his countrymen (my countrymen, of course!) and probably the greatest fighter in the boxing ring who ever lived. Well, I believed that Donaire was not in the peek of his career just like Pacquiao. I can't just imagine how far these two magnificent fighters will go. Donaire and Pacquiao is continuing to write the history of boxing.
Speaking of Manny Pacquiao, if you watched the Donaire-Montiel bout, then most probably you're aware of the upcoming Pacquiao-Mosley's. I read some comments from a blog article about the fight between Mosley and Pacquiao and I was fascinated by how interested they were. Some are good for either of the fighter, some are bad, some can I say gave intelligent comments, and some were dumb.
Anyway, the fight will be this coming May 7, 2011. Some people like both the fighters gave their insights on why they will win in this fight. We can't deny that Pacquiao is the favorable player, but I doubt Mosley has death wishes to fight with the world's no.1 pound-per-pound boxer. Both Pacquiao and Mosley's determination and perseverance is insurmountable, we can't really know what exactly will happen.
I'm no boxing expert, I'm just any average Joe who's fond of watching famous boxing fights.But for me, both Pacquiao and Mosley are equal fighters and I can't wait to see this two of the greatest athletes clashed in the boxing ring. Then, again, the Philippines will stop for a while.
